Another Store Hits the Dust

I totally got why circuit city went out of business. I even understand why the B&N on Astor had to shut down. But Virgin? This is the store where I spent my youth, back when illegal pirating wasn't so rampant. But alas it is what it is. The one in Union Square is scheduled for closing at the end of May and the one in Times Square is scheduled to shut it's doors in April. Well, i know none of us buy cds anymore, but at least now we can get some discount blu-ray DVDs. (Damn you SONY and your PS3! I had my money on Mircrosoft)

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry

Did anyone notice that the cost of food is a b*tch. So i scoured the web to find you things that either promote intoxication, or at least provide you some form of sustenance while you become inebriated.

Crocodile Lounge (Ongoing)
What's the deal: So for anyone that ever had to choose between booze and food, more likely than not booze won. But do not fear. For every drink you buy, you get a free personal pizza. Not the greatest pizza you will ever eat, but when you feel a lil tipsy this will do.
Days: Every night
Location: 325 E. 14th St.

Caffe Vivaldi (It's all about the music baby)
What's the deal: For anyone that is a lover of the music scene, you know that you can't see a good band unless you pay a cover, on top of the drink minimums *_* (we should have a revolution about this!). But there is one place that promotes local musicians and artists without any of that nonsense. The drink prices are reasonable but the artists are homegrown. So every note you hear and every lyric they sing eminates that non-generic feel. My favorite is this dude called Matthew Brookshire ( playing on March 4).
Days: Every night
Location: 32 Jones StreetNew York, NY 10014
